March 31, 2005 (from bnf now)

Mother mother ocean

I have heard you call

Wanted to sail upon your waters

Since I was three feet tall

Cause you’ve seen it all

You’ve seen it all

I’ve watched the men who rode you

They switched from sails to steam

And in your belly you hold the treasures

Few have ever seen

Most of them are dreams

Most of them are dreams

Well yes I am a pirate

A few hundred years to late

The cannons don’t thunder

There’s nothing to plunder

I’m an under 40 victim of fate

Arriving too late

Arriving too late
I’ve done a bit of smuggling

Well I’ve run my share of grass

I made enough money to buy Miami

But I pissed it away so fast
It’s never meant to last

Well I have been drunk now for over two weeks
I’ve passed out and I’ve rallied and I sprung a few leaks

But I’ve gotta stop wishing

I’ve gotta go fishing
Down to rock bottom again
With just a few friends
With just a few friends
With just a few friends
just a few friends

And the actual show at Virgin Megastore ~ we saw the sign in the window days before the show and planned on coming down.

If you bought a CD, you could line up for an autograph after the show.

People started showing up and filling the place like six hours before the show.

The kids and Jenn too. The kids brought their customized truck stop acoustic for signing if we got lucky.

And we did! This guy played it for a while and actually made it sound decent! The ukulele dude took off with him at one point and had a little jam session going on the floor.

Before the show ~ the entire crowd (1500?) sang happy b-day to Sunny after it was loudly announced by our new friend, Katie. What's so Maybe about Katie? -BNL
Thanks Katie! That was very cool for Sunny and bnf.

When jack finally came on, we ended up stuck behind a pole.

But kids are a little smarter than your average joe, or jack. Plus they get away with stuff adults just can't.

Such as in front of the barrier, front row in an overly packed house!

Perhaps they noticed Sunny's AC/DC hat?

Look at all those fancy clothes,
But these could keep us warm just like those.
And what about your soul? Is it cold?
Is it straight from the mold, and ready to be sold?
And cars and phones and diamond rings,
Bling, bling, because those are only removable things.
And what about your mind? Does it shine?
Are there things that concern you, more than your time?
Gone, the wind.
Gone, everything.
Gone, don’t give a damn.
Gone, be the birds, when they don’t wanna sing.
Gone, people, all awkward with their things,
Gone.
Look at you, out to make a deal.
You try to be appealing, but you lose your appeal.
And what about those shoes you’re in today?
They’ll do no good, on the bridges you burnt along the way.
Are you willing to sell, anything?
Gone, with your head.
Leave your footprints,
And we’ll shame them with our words.
Gone, people, all careful and consumed.
Gone, gone, gone, everything.
Gone, don’t give a damn.
Gone, be the birds, when they don’t wanna sing.
Gone, people, all awkward with their things, Gone.
