Hi, I like your sense of humor. Pinche is the correct spelling for what you called pinchay. When you want to say "I was too chiken to..." we say "gallina" (hen) Chingow is chingado If you do go again, go to Ensenada. it's only 70 miles but it is beautiful... And mexicans don't drive like crazy on the freeway because most of the cars on the freeway are from California (who drive to slow in the fast lane). Like you, I got muchos "amigos" in Mexico. About everyone calls you Amigo... and like you... I got tired of saying no... but in Ensenada you can get the best fish tacos, tequila and a few cervezas for 3 people for just $20. Adios amigo :-)

I think your idea of living is fantastic! I agree. Things are just things. Family is everything! What do you do about schooling? Someday, I would like for our family of 4 to do something similar. We live in Shanghai, China, right now. When we go back to "The States", this would be a fun way to live! But school is my concern. Hooray for living your dream!-Sarah

May 31 entry - thanks for the Mexico tips! We hope to make it further south into Mexico someday. We hear it's all the difference from the border towns. FYI: Jenn's maiden name is Trevino, we grew up in San Antonio, TX and love the Mexican culture. Sarah (June 1) - We homeschool using an 'unschooling' method. Works great for us cuz we suck at planning. Basically we take every opportunity possible to teach ourselves and children what's interesting at any moment. Saves us all the frustration and boredom. Hi, I have just been looking at your website - it is so much fun!!! My husband and I just met you and Jenn at the gas station near Flagstaff. We are the people (Lynn & Les) from Alabama visiting my brother in Flagstaff and then going on to El Paso tomorrow for my nephew's wedding. You guys are very inspiring - makes us think of doing the same thing. I told my 10 year-old daughter, Dana, about you all and her only comment was "very cool!" Now, we just have to sell my 14 year-old son, Michael, on the idea. You have a beautiful family, and I know that you all are having the time of your lives. If you are ever in Birmingham - we would love for you to visit us. I would love to keep track of where you are - can we do this just by looking at your web site? Also, I would love to know details of how you guys live day to day, like when you have school, play time, how you keep in touch with friends and family, how you make your money and really how much "stuff" do you have with you and was it hard getting rid of all of it - you should write a book. You all seem to be very happy and that is really what succes is all about Leslie, my husband of 18 1/2 years, is from Birmingham, (where Reuben is from - if you watched American Idol) and he has lived all of his life there except a short 18 months in LA about 11 years ago. I have lived all over - my father was career Army, and I moved 16 times before I was 19 years old (so I am not really sure if I want to keep moving - I kind of like being in the same place). It is really strange for me to have lived in Birmingham for 10 years straight - I have never been in one place that long. Alabama is my home though, we moved to Alabama when I was 5 and we always kept going back after other moves. It is funny, but I sound like I am from Alabama and Leslie doesn't, but he is the true Alabamian. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I also lived in Malibu when I was young. We also lived in Santa Monica (in fact, my brother, Kent, graduated from Sa Mo High in 1970), Westlake, Thousand Oaks and San Pedro before we moved back to Huntsville. I agree with Jenn, LA is a fabulous place, but I like living in Birmingham close to most of our family. Leslie and I also lived in LA as adults and Dana was born out there - we lived in Valencia. We try to get out there at least once a year - we have very good friends out there. They were my neighbors when we lived in Malibu and they have a granddaughter that is Michael's age. Anyway, that is a little bit about us, and really if you ever in the South, let us know and we show you around. Thanks for sharing your wonderful lives with us - we can live vicariously through you. If you get a chance, my email is lynnstuckey@email.com. Hope to see you soon and have fun. Take care, Lynn Stuckey PS: One of my favorite pictures of you all is the one with the jeep parked on top of your dog - great shot!!!

Kirk Singer Backcountry Experience, Inc Durango, Colorado 970-247-5830 I want to compliment you on your son Austin. Good kid, easy to talk to at the compass class. It was also fun to talk to full time RV'ers, although I misinterpreted the name of your crew. But I'll bet I am not the first. Your site is great, funny, very thoughtful, as I envy you no end. As I mentioned, we drive a 28'1984 Allegro class A. Big enough for two people, yet small enough to get into the tight boondocking places we like to go here in the mountains of Colorado, or canyon country in Utah, and small enough for the National Parks and National Forests. We are members of Escapees (#68140) and also the BoF "Buffs". Thus the misinterpretation of your logo. Frequently visit the Escapee's Forum as well as MotorHome magazines forum. Have a good trip. Please keep in touch with any compass questions. Take a look at DeLorme's TOPO 4.1 software. It is the topography of thr entire country including city streets on 6 disks. I have a GPS receiver mounted on the roof of the RV. plugged into a laptop with the TOPO 4.0. Neat system. Kirk Singer oyaas@earthlink.net

I must admit, I'am impressed! I have never cruised through someones road trip, but we also have a similiar sence of humour. We moved to Scottsdale Az 5 yrs ago from Ontario Canada and love it here. If you ever pass through Phx, give us a call and drop by for dinner, wash clothes, swin in the pool etc. We live on a cul-de-sac, good for RV parking. I have 2 kids 16 & 18, 2 dogs, myself ( of course) and my wife of 21 yrs. I think what you all are doing is very healthy for the family in many ways. Look forward to your visit someday. Hello there... from Jenn/Greg's dad + Austin- Kesley-Sunne's grandad (g'dad jimmy). (+) Another "Happy-Birthday" to my son Gregory Basil White on 7-19-03 ~ Question...?...who knows or doesn't know that my #2 son's name is Basil? (+) My daughter Jenn's middle name is Rose... and their children Austin, Kesley and Sunne have middle names... but I don't remember them. Well anyway... today (GB's birthday) I've talked with my wonderful #2 son (Gregory B--) by phone for 45+ minutes... felt I had to cause a dad must visit with his son on occasions and it's right thing to do... so there Gregory B. (+) I've taken over 2 hours downloading your web site and looking at your July/'03 travels, family photos + a "few-of" your funny writings/notes... but 42 of of the 64 notes I didn't understand... is it my age? Enuf already... but be assured that every 3- 5-7 years I will call and visit, and wish some of you "Happy Birthday." For sure ~ I love you somewhat and I think of you guys most of time ~ Dad/G'dad.

Hi Hippy Bastard and family. I love the website! and I love the way you're living and raising your family. Greg, you have great kids as I told your tres-cool wife. I could tell you were right-on as well, but I did't imagine that you were a fellow metaphysician with a bent towards eastern philosophy and maybe physics I'd guess? I had a stack of Zen books with me in Durango, but felt pretty confident I was the only guy in the park with any interest in that stuff. I hang out on the yahoo buddhist boreds where I'm known as stretch (baalstretcher), we bullshit about sex and drugs and rock and roll and occasionally even Buddhism or even physics. Sometimes it's interesting (http://messages.yahoo.com/bbs?action=m&board=9195139&tid=yourbeliefishorrible&sid=9195139&mid=200), sometimes it's not (http://messages.yahoo.com/bbs?.mm=GN&action=m&board=9195139&tid=towhomdoesgodpromiseeternallife&sid=9195139&mid=5767) anyway, since we didn't get to talk, if you ever find yourself in the area (ie:unimaginably, luxuriously bored) stop by and pester us. Hope to see you again sometime, til then watch out for all the other idiots on the road. and stay cool jon@cheerspottery.com

Hi I'm Karylann Love. My husband, Doug and I just bought our first RV ('99 Damon Intruder.. such a freindly name, huh? :-) Anyhow... we heard about you from a woman who just bought the same RV that you all live in. We were buying our RV's at the same place and got talking in the pool. I had to check out your site, since we are in the process of selling our home (and most of teh things inside it) here in Tampa, FL and moving out to Santa Cruz, CA to live full time in our RV in the redwoods. Doug got a job out there and we can't afford to buy a house out that way (who can?). We have a baby girl that we adopted from Nepal in Feb. She'll be a year in a few weeks. We're very excited to have her grow up surounded by all the beauty of Northern CA. We also are planning on homeschooling her. Just wanted to say hello and let you know that it is nice to hear about other people with children living alternative lifestyles. Have a great time on your journeys!! Peace -The Loves

Hi there, my sons and I (I'm their sole custodial father) from Southern CA met you and spoke with you and your wonderful children a few times in Durango at ehri new Rec Center late July this year. Something is happenening in our, "Life of three" that's making it real hard to continue the, "Status quo." I have been feeling the strong inner voice telling me that the way we have been living is not where we are supposed to be and that, "Out there", where you are and perhaps in our RV is where we can live and love to the highest degree. This burning yearning which with it comes the pain of living, "Less than true" stems from the needs of a f and 7 year old boys and a father who desires to give them more than 8-5 days in school and after school care so dad can pay the bills. Rather, I am a parent who believes, "Time with" rather than, "Time away" heals and is where I belong - with my sons instead of away from them. I have never knew love with the closeness I know of living through the pain and anguish required to protect and provide stability to these young lives - the lives of my sons and because of our survival and success in being granted freedom, peace and togethernes - I long to protect and cherish it. When I think of the times we spoke, both of you as parents feel this feeling and as such wanted to share more of, "Your dream" as it inspires mine. Feel free to write me at briang@cox.net and I hope you remember us as we were the ones who were in Durango visiting my parents. I hope all has been well on your end and that all of you are happy, healthy, safe, and together. Brian G -

Wednesday, August 20, 2003: Great web site! Spoke briefly at our wastewater plant. Did as you suggested after my book (The Clearing by Tim Gautreaux)lunch: went back into my wastewater facility aka "sewer plant" office and looked up your web site. Looking forward to pictures of our rv disposal site. Can I download them for us here at South Essex Sewerage District? We see so many rv's coming in, but never meet any of the families. It's nice to put a history with the vehicle! I am the "Community Relations" person here at SESD: any message for our next newsletter about SESD, your visit to us (although how exciting can THAT be?), or about Salem, etc.? Can I mention your visit? Will you be back? Thanks for sharing your lives....Ann (at South Essex Sewerage District, Salem, MA)

We traveled 1994-99 with 4 kids in a 5th wheel. Here are a list the our kids favorite parks: Normandy Farms, Foxboro, MA. Huge summer staff with lots of kids and activities. Fort Wilderness, Disney World. Had a month long snowbird rate with season passes. Street hocky every night. Key Largo Kampground, Florid. Expensive, but great place to spend Christmas. Lots of kids with Santa thrown in. Santa Cruz Port District (in back of yacht harbor). Few facilites, but hey, it's Santa Cruz Anything next to a roller coaster park. One year we hit all Paramount parks on one season pass. Playa Los Glorias just west of Guasave, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez. Great surfing, and during Semana Santos (Easter week) population of several hundred swells to a hundred thousand. (We had teenage boys) The worst: any Coast to Coast park. Finally dropped membership after kids mutinied. Happy travels, Tom & Rocki Blair blairkids@hotmail.com

Thanks for contacting your dad on 9-11/03 ~ It made my day... for sure. Of course, only the Greg/Jenn family and their dad will ever really know the feelings we have when we think of 9-11/01, because the six of us were all 'right-there' at Ground Zero a few days later... visiting/doing whatever. A time none of us will ever forget. You guys were across the Hudson in Jersey City... and after 'long-hard' days as Chaplain, my Jenn/Greg family said 'just-right' words and gave 'just-right' hugs. I love you so much and our 2001-2002 "9-11/01" memories will live on forever. Also, you must see Jennifer White's 9-11 Web Site: www.RayCharles.com/GodBlessAmerica.swf

Hi Greg and Jenn, I accepted a permanent position in San Diego. Dan is doing well with the mortgage broker thing. We are inches from getting out of debt and are now talking about buying a house here. I'm not sure I am ready to settle down. I have enjoyed the traveling. I also miss the East Coast, so laissez-faire here. I love the new stuff on the website. I hope you guys are doing well. My guys are in preschool now. Do you have any ideas for early reading skills? We read to them, but they are not recognizing letters yet. Any books, etc. would be helpful. Coco is back this fall, right by the pool. Mary is now babysitting, Cordell can ride a 2 wheeler, we are enjoying the neighborhood. We have been busy, last weekend was the San Diego Oktoberfest and Pacific Beach Fest on Saturday, then the mountains to apple country on Sunday. Corn maze, pumpkin patch, etc. We love our family time, but the boys still tire us out. They are into everything. Currently a plastic guitar that seems to play Its a Small world is the thing that will not die and is driving me nuts. Dylan is going to be Woody for Halloween, Derek is going to be Buzz Lightyear, and Dan and I are going to be Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead. I know you guys have the mo-ho dolled up for Halloween. Hey guys Great site, great what you are doing - a barenakedfamily = real life. I own RV Stripes & Graphics in Arizona and as I have been polishing my website I see that your site comes up higher in ranking on Google searches for RV Restriping, RV Stripes and other key words, so I thought I would stop by and check you out. What a cool surprise. I feel for your restripe experience, but since I have been doing this as a profession for 11 years I have learned many things along the way - but I will agree that it is not an easy task. We should put a family photo collage as a vinyl decal (mural) on your coach sometime, it would be fun! But not here to sell you anything, just wanted to say hello and congratulations on keeping it joyful. Steve Zacher/RV Stripes & Graphics www.rvsg.com

Hi, Saw you all in Salem down by the Peabody-essex Museum. At one time the Museum use to be open evenings during the month of October, where strange tales of Essex County were told in their period houses. It was great fun, and since I worked there, it was a great and fun thing to do in Salem, but wenough of that! My friend and I sat there and watched your daughter scare the bejeebes out of the passer-bys, Must have sat there for about 20 minutes. It was by far the funniest thing we have seen in a long time. Good luck in your travels, stay and be safe out there on the roads. Don Daly Salem Ma

Enjoyed your website and admire your philosophy. We are also refurbishing an older motorhome, and were most interested in your narrative. We had just about decided to paint our vinyl striping. Would you mind telling me what kind of paint you used on the striping. I'm also sending this via email. Thanks Bette

Hi! I really enjoyed looking through your website today. I am at the moment building a website entitled "Biketrip of 82" and am on chapter six which speaks of all the families we met at hotsprings in Idaho, so I was browsing the web searching with that in mind when I found your site. My wife and I appreciate the lifestyle and philosophy of your family. I have other websites you may enjoy perusing: http://www.geocities.com/romtomwebdesign/Some_of_my_websites.htm Good luck to all of you, RomTom

Hello to the 'bare-naked-family' of the world: Five of the most wonderful children and grand-children on God's 'bare-naked-globe' and in God's 'bare-naked-universe: Greg-Jenn-Austin-Kesley-Sunne... you guys are 'so-honest' or 'bare-naked' in your family writings and ministry... and as you probably 'really-know' after seeing you in Salem-Boston, and after our many hours of 'open-honest/bare-naked' visiting, I'm beginning to understand the 'visions-dreams' of your family. You are you, that's for sure... and I love you all the more for who you are. Have a safe trip in-out of Texas during the Nov-Dec holidays (+) be safe and stay in God's hands as you always do... where'ever you go, what'ever you do and how'ever-why'ever you do it when'ever. Anyway your dad-gran'dad loves you guys 'forever-and-forever.' And I'll never forget your Salem 'prayer-circle-up' and your family applauding after the prayer. What a family... the J/G-ASK Family.

Hey There, Heard ya'll on the radio a couple of days ago, you mentioned 1)Home Schooling (which we have just started doing for the same reasons you are) and 2) Living in an RV which is something we dream about doing. We live in Andice, Tx., it's 45 minutes NW of Austin!! I'm Lisa, I stay busy at home doing who knows what all day and Rob, my hubby is a Fireman with AFD, (we live in Andice because the land was free and we wanted our kids to grow up in the country surrounded by nature on all sides...God's Church, I like to call it!!!) and with his 24 on/48 off schedule we thought it silly not to be able to all be together so, we decided to home school!!! I sometimes wonder if parents have forgotten why they wanted kids in the first place. Our daughter is 7½ and our son is 5. They are thrilled not to have to go back to PS!! We would love to know how ya'll are able to do what you do financially, without getting too nosy of coarse. I envy you just "shedding" everything and following your dreams. I'm not attached to material objects just a little nervous about the details of life I guess. Come and visit if you're in town, we've got lots of room!! Peace, Rob, Lisa Emmalyn & Jordan Stephenson

Really interested in your parties for families. There never seems to be a place or event where you can just hang out with your family in an enviroment where EVERYBODY is entertained. Always seems that things are either designed for the kids or just for the parents. Who wants to take their kid to a bar just to hear some hip music or hang out at a pizza joint so the kids can milk you out of coins? I would love to go to one of your parties and meet other families who think alike. Thanks for taking on family and giving them a voice that says it's cool to rock out with them! Hope to see you when you come through Portland Oregon!

Great website. What a wonderful family you have! You are giving your kids the best gift of all - your time and attention. Congratulations. I hope we can work out a deal for next weekend. But, if not, perhaps another time. Our place - Shady Springs - is at it's best in the late spring-fall, when you can enjoy all the amenities. But we do have the killer dance hall! Hello BNF, I saw your website on the side of your car today, Tues, Jan 27th. Really enjoyed reading about your sane approach to family and remembering what is truely important. I recently moved here from out of state and literally sold everything beforehand. My mother and I went on our very first road-trip together and had the time of our lives! Presently, I am living the most spartan lifestyle I have ever endeavored and have never been happier. It's amazing how when "stuff" is no longer the focal point in your life, you have so much more time for people and that is where most Americans are missing out big time. Thanks for the good remeinder of what is important. Sincerely, Jennifer
