I had to find out. I had to know what sort of family with three kids lived in a motor home. This was no ordinary family. I knew that much. They had a grey and black VW Thing with Barenakedfamily.com stenciled above the engine compartment. Likewise, Barenakedfamily.com was displayed across the side of their home on wheels. These folks were definitely strange.
I was a little nervous that the family might all of a sudden shed all of their clothes. I was even more worried that they would expect me to do the same. As I approached the door, it opened and out bounced two happy little dogs that greeted me. I was invited in and decided to sit down, although with some hesitation.
I observed the family as they ate their baked potatoes and salads. They were really neat folks. There was artwork on the walls that had replaced the disgusting simulated wood grain that most campers are built with. The motor home was kept clean and orderly, the mark of true RVers.
As we talked, I discovered that the Barenaked Family had nothing to do with nudity. Instead, it meant that they had stripped down to the basic necessities. They were making a home on the road of life. No corporations, no stuff. As a result, the Barenaked Family had gained the single most important thing of all: time for one another.
Wow! I couldn't believe it: A creative, intelligent, healthy family in the 21st century? They were strange.
Just gotta know more?
